WEDGES

When I used to think about the word wedge the first thing that comes to mind is WEDGIEEEEEEEEE…but now, I think of this kewl band out of Toronto who are most definitely, "on the move".

The name came from the Much Music show "The Wedge" which had to do with most indie bands. Something you want to know is that each Wedge has a name and each Wedge contributes to the band in their own wedgy way...

We have the Vocal wedge Adam, Electric Guitar wedge Rob , a bass wedge by the name of Nathan and a Drumming wedge named Paul and that's between y'all.

Wedges are as Wedges do, so in describing their music their sound is "Wedge Music" meaning "that is ours and it is original in our perspective". Truly, an indie perspective! Although you may be able to sense a little influence coming from the STP direction and Smashing Pumpkins... but only a little J.

They were even so kind as to share an WEDGY INDIE DITTY with the world:

Execept Sony, Epic, MCA and EMI too?!?

"But seriously this is serious"?!? Ed. Yes we at SOI are very serious Wedges, now sit down and behave yourself like good little wedges should!

"But really indie is just a better way to get your music out if you are not recognized locally. Indie aren't always bad musicians though, they can be quite popular ex. Hayden, Tristian Pisonic, Dissemblers, Rusty, etc.)"

Can a wedge get pissed off? But of course and here’s why "The local economy in general seems to ignore indie music and instead go for the popular music." My goodness and so you should be a little pee'd.

You can expect to hear the wedges shortly on their upcoming for release in April/May of 97 and their full length release tentatively entitled "FUEL" which should be out by June/July 97. Summer time Summer time sum sum summer time!

The net has enabled the band to share and post indie information with other bands, artists, fans, cyberfreaks and they found out many things on the internet which has helped the way they look at things.
