Project PSAV The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has long had an interest in public education, especially of the young and most Global Neighbours are familiar with the Church's popular and educational public service announcements on television that have for years brought enlightening moral messages to our children. Fifteenth Mormon President, current Church Prophet and Happyclown of the Month for the Month of March, Gordon B. Hinckley has had a revelation. Television is becoming an obsolete medium, in order for our important messages to reach the children of tomorrow, we must adopt new technologies. .... Luckily, for the Church of Mormon, this is not a problem. An interesting bi product of the Mormon Church's strong interest in genealogy is it's embracement of computer technology. As a result of years of experience maintaining the world's biggest genealogical databases the Mormons are truly a modern wired cyber-church. Salt Lake City is a mecca for software development, home to more than 230 technology-based businesses including networking giant Novell. The local software power houses have taken up the torch of our Happyclown's words and are working closely with Hinckley and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. .... Together, they have unveiled the amazing new "Public Service Announcement Virus" technology, referred to as the PSAV by those in the know. The PSAV is far more sophisticated that your average computer virus, besides being able to mutate and polymorph to circumvent typical anti-virus technology, the PSAV can detect and employ a wide variety of remote networking protocols to communicate with the "PSAV Control Server" located within Church headquarters in Salt Lake City. continue ..... |
.... The actual technology used in the PSAV Control Server is kept secret by the Church's technicians due to security concerns, but Global Neighbours involved tell us that it is a mammoth processing machine that uses neural nets and other artificial intelligence techniques to map PSAV migration and instruct the PSAV how to navigate global electronic networks and avoid obstacles. But unlike your typical computer virus, the PSAV is not harmful, it does no damage to an "infected" computer, it merely waits for an opportunity to report relevant data back to the PSAV control server or a PSAV data buffering point and then delivers it's humanitarian message! .... In an age when children's attention is being taken away from television by computers and the Internet, Happyclown is relieved that the new media will also contain some moral lessons for our children. Just imagine, the next time your children are at their computer, they could receive a life changing message from the church like "Don't do drugs", "Love your family", "Be nice to animals", etc. .... Happyclown congratulates our Happyclown of the Month, Gordon B. Hinckley, for working to create a better world for generations of Global Neighbours with this magnificent humanitarian technology.
