A disc jockey, sound specialist and improviser
par excellence, Martin Tétreault deconstructs the perceived universe and
refashions it into a reality that is completely different, one wholly
personal and enduring. Since the 1980s Tétreault has been very active on
Montreal's contemporary music scene, and appears on the concert stage and
at festivals across the country and abroad both as a solo artist and with
other performers. He has worked closely with Michel F. Côté, René Lussier,
Diane Labrosse, Ikue Mori, and Xavier Charles and has released a number
compact discs and cassettes: La nuit oô j'ai dit non, Callas: La diva et
le vinyle, Île Bizarre, Dur Noyau Dur, Des pas et des mois, and most
recently Four Focuses and 21 Situations with Otomo Yoshihide, and
Particles, Smears with Kevin Drumm and a workshop CD w/I8U. June gig @
B-Side w/René Lussier + Dale Morningstar was highlight of improv during
downtown jazz nightlife series, which was also co-curated by Wavelength.
