FEBRUARY 24, 1997 --- PLEASE NOTE

One day your spouse punches you. A few days later, they kick you in the back. A couple of days later, they throw boiling water on your head. The next day, they hit you with a baseball bat. Experts advise, in this situation, that you move out -- this is called "separation". We must decide. Do you want to let Harris ruin Toronto, or do we want to govern it ourselves??

FEBRUARY 17, 1997 --- PLEASE NOTE

First it was the 21% welfare cuts, then public housing, then amalgamation, then mega-dumping.... How much abuse can Toronto take?? The Independent Toronto Committee (I.T.C.) asks all Torontonians to phone their friends and neighbours and relatives and ask them to phone Metro and City councillors and urge them to tell Queen's Park that we'll separate if the referenda aren't respected.

FEBRUARY 10, 1997 --- PLEASE NOTE

Experience elsewhere points to potential megacity problems. A consultant hired by the City says that of the 3 U.S. cities with over 2 million residents, 2 have within them "advancing secession movements---sparked by the belief that remote city halls were ignoring local needs" and the third "has lost almost one million people, who seceded with their feet". If you don't want to be surrounded by ghettoes, do something ! Please phone your City and Metro councillors and urge them to tell Queen's Park that if they don't respect the results of the March 3rd referenda, we'll separate from Ontario.

FEBRUARY 03, 1997 --- PLEASE NOTE

In the next Ontario election, there will be 22 ridings in Metro Toronto and 81 ridings in the rest of Ontario. This means Harris and company can keep dumping on Toronto again, and keep getting re-elected again and again! Therefore, the Independent Toronto Committee (I.T.C.) urges all citizens of Toronto to phone their municipal politicians and ask them to tell Queen's Park that if the March 3rd referenda are not respected, Toronto will separate from Ontario.
