Over the course of my career I have developed a well rounded set of skills that include a demonstrated ability to work with and manage people, strong technical knowledge and hands-on technical experience along with a considerable track record of effective public and interpersonal communications. I have independently produced many projects including Plunderpalooza, a three day festival exploring the fair use of appropriated intellectual property in art. The event took place at Lee's Palace, The Bloor Cinema and InterAccess attracting a wide range of media coverage including The Globe and Mail, CBC Radio's "The Arts Today" and CityTV's "The New Music." Plunderpalooza was broadcast live across the Internet and via micro-power FM radio. Other real-time Internet broadcasts that I've produced include Nocturnal Transmission, a series of spoken word performances, and Performance Bytes, a simultaneous video broadcast of performance artists in four Canadian cities presented in part by Trinity Square Video and Bell Canada. I have managed the promotion and staging of several
fundraising events for organisations including the Toronto
FreeNet and the 519 Church Street Community Centre. I've had the opportunity to be guest panellist for presentations on new media organised by the North By North East music festival (NXNE) presented by Now Magazine and at the E-cafe series at InterAccess. I have also been interviewed on CIUT Radio on several occasions. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Toronto FreeNet, an organisation that provides free Internet access to thousands of Toronto residents, I have had the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of managing an Internet presence. |
