I understand important industry functions such as Work Breakdown,
Scheduling (CPM), Cost Engineering and Contract Administration. Working in
the project management industry for the past few years has given me a good
understanding of the role computers and information systems play in the
profession.
Intranets and Executive Information Systems
I have significant experience with the issues relating to integrating cross-platform systems and enabling access to the data via an Intranet or and EIS (Executive Information System). I understand the details involved in making electronic publishing a part of the overall information strategy, putting in the links and processes that keep the data provided up to date and accurate, and implementing functionality that makes it useful and usable to staff and executives.
I have a detailed understanding of database design and administration, including familiarity with the related file formats, management, and security issues associated with either stand-alone, multi-user or client/server systems. I know SQL (Structured Query Language) in detail, and have experience implementing and integrating cross-platform systems.
I have a strong knowledge of computer programming, software design and data modeling. Having developed many applications using various development languages I can use any tools available to accomplish the task at hand. The tools that I am currently using frequently are Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft FoxPro, both of which I know 'Inside Out'.
I have strong Internet expertise, including publishing on the World Wide Web and setting up Internet points of presence. I undertake many arts and community minded new media projects including web sites and Internet audio and video broadcasts.
