I am a medical device researcher/developer, primarily recognized because I invented the "ear thermoter" you see in use world wide. I'll not go into too many of my other reserch devices such as Breast Cancer Detection, skin cancer detection and electronic allergy detection (Elast.com, look under new releases in November '98 where they announce my personal involvement).

Anyway. I have been doing research into managing the "bumps" because as you know they can get bigger, are unsightly, can itch, and get infected with normal bacteria if the patient tries to pinch them like a pimple.

I have been developing a device that is a small battery (9 volt) operated signal generator that uses electrophoresis to electronically deposit microscopic ions of silver from the pure silver electrode into the skin. It pulses a particular frequency of the small current into the skin. The skin is first swabbed with a particular solution of iodine which combines with the silver electnonically to make silver iodine ions. (Silver kills all known forms of bacteria and has shown significant inhibitory effects on many virus.)

What happens is that overnight, the pustule (clam) begins to turn necrotic and the next day the tiny hardened sac (like a tiny cyst) sloughs off. The bump then scabs over and on the third day, the scab sloughs off leaving a small reddened healing area. by the fourth day, it is healed with no scarring.

The research comes from work with herpes and mosquito bites and facial pimples.

I am currently looking for investors in a limited partnership to develop the device further, and I have the ability to supply small numbers of the prototype device for research.

I just thought you might like to know. Keep me posted with any info you might gather. We are in the process of establishing a website.
