The Congo lies on the equator in the thick of the African rainforests. Excessive humidity, not heat, is the main concern.
The best time to see the Congo is from June to September, when there's little or no rain, or around late December or January when the rains sometimes let up slightly.
The worst times are November and February to April, when there are downpours almost every day.
